Baked Apples

This post will be from a new series of short ideas. So let’s keep it simple. This is a perfect autumn – winter somewhat healthier dessert. Enjoy!

Ingredients:
  • apples (at least 4)
  • quince
  • (for variety – optional)
  • nuts & seeds mix (at least 4 tbsp)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Topping (optional) :

  • 200 ml fresh cream
  • 1 tsp powdered sugar
Quick Guide:
  • Preheat oven at 180°C ( about 360°F)
  • Clean the apples, cut them in halves, remove the stub and keep skin on if possible. Quince will be prepared in the same way. In this case I recommend the fruits to be cut into thicker slices.
  • Put them in a baking pot/ramekin, cut side up.
  • The quince, if used in your recipe, should sit at the base of the pot/ramekin. This will give the dessert a better consistency as the quince will remain firmer than the apples when cooked.
  • Spray each layer with olive oil (or coat gently with a deserts brush).
  • Fill/sprinkle with nuts and seeds
  • Bake in a preheated oven for at least 20-25 min.
Can be serverd with fresh wipped cream on top:
  • pour fresh cream into a bowl adding the suggar and whipping it with a mixer at high speed for at least 4-5 min until stiff peaks are formed
